The Tri- Council is gearing up for our end-of-semester service event: Day of Demeter. On May 1st, at least 300 Cornell Greeks will head into the community to help with diverse projects including gorge cleanups, fundraiser setups, and construction projects for numerous community agencies.

The keynote speaker at our kickoff event will be Dana Hork, founder and Executive Director of Change for Change.

The ceremony will also include a check presentation to Ithaca's Suicide Prevention and Crisis Services. We expect Greeks from every chapter to be involved and we look forward to making a huge difference.

Day of Demeter, the annual Day of Service event, will be held on May 1, 2010. The Tri- Council Vice Presidents for University and Community Relations is hard at work planning a day that builds on the successes of previous years.

This year's kickoff event will be held in Duffield Hall and will include breakfast for participants, a keynote speaker, free giveaways, and live music.

Volunteer sites are currently being organized, and should include some past favorites as well as new agencies in the community.

During the event, the Tri-council also hopes to close its Change for Change drive and announce the final funds raised.
